Different Motivating Factors for Students

Every student needs to be successful in the overall learning process out of desire, compulsion and interest. It is here that motivation plays an important role because appropriate student motivation plays a key role in the overall learning process. Students that are highly motivated are actively engaged in the learning process in the best way. On the other hand, students that lack motivation need enough motivation to get guidance in the entire learning process. Additionally, motivated students also have a positive impact on learning. It is easy for them to take advantage of any given opportunity and show intense effort and concentration in the learning process.

It is also found that motivated students reveal positive emotions like enthusiasm, excitement, optimism and interest during learning. The less motivated students are found to be less interested in participating in the learning process. Even if, they are physically present in the classroom, they are mentally absent. They also fail to engage in the learning tasks actively.

A teacher plays a significant role in motivating the students. The student should obtain motivation from external sources to obtain rewards or avoid punishment. They also take part in activities that help them in getting good grades. It can be social or material motivation. At times, the student also engages in activity for its own sake, for the pleasure and enjoyment that it provides. Therefore, every student should be motivated to the fullest in order to get the satisfactory learning and development process.
