Alternative transportation

Alternative transportation

Alternative transportation has two huge benefits. It is good for the environment (there is no pollution) and it is good for you (because you will exercise). Of course, you get both benefits only if you use human powered vehicles. The only energy they use for the movement is the energy made by a human.

The reason why people still avoid human powered vehicles is unknown. Maybe we are just lazy or we don’t know about them. Beside bicycles (that are most known), we can use: tricycles, caster boards, handcycles, skateboards and scooters. There are also non-wheeled vehicles that are human powered. They are: ice skaters, skies, sleds and canoes. Non-wheeled vehicles are usually used for fun and competition. On the other side, human powered vehicles with wheels are practical.

Many people talk about health and how to stay health. All of you know that exercises are one of the 3 pillars that we must satisfy in order to be healthy. The best way is to combine transportation with exercise. This means, you can go on a job with a bicycle, instead with a car. You can also visit a friend that lives near you with a bicycle or tricycle. All of these are much better that starting a car engine.

There are many human powered vehicles that are just concepts, yet. But soon, we will be able to use them every day. This is a good thing for us and for the environment. Even better is that you can make your own vehicle. There are no rules and regulations. Only your imagination is a limit.
